I would actually like to get an oven to twitter, or some way to cook food remotely =p This way, I can set the thing to start cooking before I get home, and dinner is ready by the time I'm back ^_^
If I know I'm going to take too long, I can just set the oven to turn off remotely. I suppose people are generally more cautious when it comes to mixing technology with cooking.
What I think I can do... is set some food (cakes, cookies, muffins, roast, vegetables, etc.) in the oven, with the oven turned off, but the dials set to the appropriate temperature. Then, when I am coming home, I turn it on by twitter or send an email which triggers the power switch to be turned on. =) I could also have a temperature gauge to detect whether my little remote cooking is doing a little remote over-cooking and burning down the house. :3
This does sorta fly in the face of normal cooking procedure in which you are meant to pre-heat the oven so that the heat is even.
