Hee... I'm already ahead of most of my class in completing the assignment for MM101, the Finance(Analysis)206 test was... easy-ish, and I think the OR201 test will be alright =)
Ah... Finally.. after 2 years at Uni, I am finally getting my shit together, understanding what's being taught in class, and getting started on work long before it's due. Goood Ian.. =p
Anywayz, with all this free time, I was thinking about going for an exchange program to the Netherlands. Specifically, Nijmegen or Maastricht. I was told that I can't apply to study in Japan because I would have to speak Japanese before going so... =(
Ah well, it'll mean that I get to meet Patrick and Nicole in real life =) which is always a big plus =)
And all this is subject to alot of conditions..
Like.. for example, my parents agreeing to help me pay for living accomadations, units being approved, getting the scholarship, etc. *sigh* but I suppose it would be worth the effort.. =)

The First Week at Uni
Ouch. Well actually, that was kinda exaggerating it. I'm taking these units this semester:
- Mathematical Modelling 101
Mmmm... My first impression on this unit is that it's going to be similar to OR201 but the easier version of it. Will be covering optimization, game theory, and some other topics.
- Operations Research 201
Hmmmm... I have some doubts as to how easy this is going to be... but.. Dr. Rumchev seems like a nice enough guy and a competent teacher.. =) The material is interesting enough.. and he includes little historical tidbits that help to make the topic less dry.
- Finance (Managerial) 212
This unit... doesn't seem too hard.. and it seems to keep on track of managing risk and identifying value of stock/shares/financial derivatives. The lecturer is very interesting. =) He has a very interesting accent and it kinda keeps me awake while listening to it.
- Finance (Analysis) 206
Hmmm... Essentially another "How to use Excel" course. It's easier then all the units that I've ever done. =p 3 assessments, no need to turn up for lectures/tutorials. =p I will, of course, turn up for all of the lectures/tutorials.
